Because of the variability in how samples are obtained, some samples are less viable by the time they reach the lab. It is not necessarily because you have an abnormality in your specimen. This happens very rarely, and Harvey will send you a free replacement kit if your sample fails.

Other common reasons for an unusable sample may include too little fluid collected, or the specimen bottle not sealed shut prior to mailing which may result in leakage.
